Art Classes & Tuition
The Lands End Peninsula has been attracting artists and craftspeople to live, work and holiday for centuries.....but not everyone has had the opportunity or the encouragement in their lives to explore their creative side.
Claire Lucas founded Lands End School of Art (now Claire Lucas Art) as a way of offering people who want to explore their creative side a nurturing and safe space in which to do so. She is a firm believer that time spent in creative activity, especially if it is in a non-judgemental and supportive environment, can lead to an improvement in both well-being and health; it can reduce stress levels, improve confidence, and help develop self-expression. So if you have been feeling drawn to discovering...or re-discovering your inner artist, Claire is definitely the person to offer it to you!

Art Classes
'In the artists studio'
Wednesdays 10am-12noon, 12.30-2.30pm & 3-5pm
These studio classes evolve to fit the groups who come to them.....no matter what your background, skill level, confidence level or interests, Claire will find a way to support you to become the very best of your creative self! Whether you think you don't have an artistic bone in their body or are an experienced artists looking for fresh inspiration or to get out of a rut, Claire will make you most welcome. Choose your own subject matters, style, media ideas & projects and have Claire on hand to guide, support and encourage.....plus regular slideshows and demo's to inspire you! These are mixed ability groups, and therefore have a range of prices: From £15 - £30/class depending on how many classes you are booking & your level of experience. Max group size is 7 |
'Art Practice'
Thursdays Fortnightly, from 10am til 1pm
These sessions are for more experienced students who are wanting to develop their art practice. You’ll work on independent projects, with group discussions about relevant topics, plus individual feedback and tuition when necessary. Option of staying on after 1 for a shared lunch, chat, walk etc. From £20-£30/session depending on how many classes you are booking. Max group size 5 Drop-ins and holiday makers welcome when there's space...contact Claire to book your place.

One-To-One & Bespoke Small Group Tuition
Throughout the year I offer bespoke art tuition plus half days and whole days of Art Experiences for people visiting the area, or staying locally. (Half days are 3 hours, and full days are 7 hours, including an hour for lunch). These are arranged directly with you, to suit your & your party's needs. They can include:
Drawing and painting in my studio, or at your holiday home
Drawing and painting trips to local beauty spots
Drawing and painting at local beaches or gardens with cafe or restaurant lunch
Sketching days
Introduction to various art media, including slideshow, demonstration and guided activities
Guided trips to galleries
Or a mixture of any of the above!
Prices:
Just for yourself: One-to-one tuition £40/hour
For groups: Half Day - £150 for 2 people, £175 for 3 or 4, £200 for more than 4 (maximum 8)
Whole Day - £300 for 2 people, £350 for 3 or 4, £400 for 4 or more
Whole day including 2 course lunch - as above, but add £25/head
